Morton a bad guy? Wha? He was RoboCops champion, he just liked a little co*ke and whor*s. Can't blame a guy for that can you?

I would say Gary Oldman from Leon/The Professional.

He wasn't pure evil like Clarence or Dick, true. He was in training and played out of his league.

:up: Bob Gunton was remarkable in that part. I couldn't see why he didn't get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Good pick, but I liked Mitchum better in the original. Speaking of Mitchum, he was a great bad guy in Night of the Hunter.

Did anyone mention Pacino in "The Devil's Advocate" man he plays a really cool bad guy in that one, pretty likably bad really.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Agent Smith from the Matrix Trilogy. Looking at the first post, it looks like the definition we're going for here is the "coolest" bad guys, as in bad guys who are just so cool you gotta love 'em. So here we go:

Darth Vader (Star Wars)
Agent Smith (Matrix)
Tony Montana (Al Pacino - Scarface, he really was a bad guy...)
Vincent (Tom Cruise - Collateral)

Nope he had his morals like no killing women or children (which pissed off his cocaine partner causing the invasion on Tony's mansion) and only killed those that deserved it like his boss who ordered that secret hit on him, he even let his boss's assistant work for him after he offed the boss and the crooked cop. He's what many of those in the gangster/mob/dealer movies are- an anti-hero. Still the protagonist.
